Rangers infielder/outfielder Ezequiel Duran has been selected as the winner of the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, which honors defensive excellence. Fans have nicknamed Duran "The Solution" because he plays multiple positions at a high level. He was the only Major League Baseball player this season to start and finish a game at every position except pitcher and catcher.
The 27-year-old appeared in a career-high 153 games across seven defensive positions. He played third base in 57 games, shortstop in 53, second base in 37, left field in 21, center field in 18, right field in 14, and first base in three. He totaled 17 outs above average, which tied for the sixth-highest figure in MLB.
Duran is the first Ranger to win the utility Gold Glove since Rawlings created the position in 2022, and he brings the team's total number of Gold Glove winners to 19. Right-handed pitcher Jacob deGrom, left fielder Wyatt Langford and center fielder Evan Carter were also Texas finalists but did not win. Rawlings will honor the winners at a ceremony in New York City on Friday, Nov. 6.
