Brownwood beat Waco Connally 66-7 on Friday, extending its string of consecutive playoff appearances to 18. Salado beat Gatesville 30-13 the same night. The two results set up a final regular-season game to determine the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds from District 13-4A Division II.

Brownwood (4-5, 2-2) will host Salado (4-5, 2-2) at 7 p.m. next Friday at Gordon Wood Stadium. The winner is expected to be the third seed and likely face Lago Vista. The loser is likely to face No. 6 Wimberley. Lions second-year head coach Jeryl Brixey said Salado is a good team and expects a tight matchup.

Brownwood led 53-0 at halftime. Ezra House ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns in the second half, and Trent Buffington had 111 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the first half. Riggs Gray threw three touchdown passes. Brixey said the Lions' defense did a good job stopping the run and containing the quarterback.
