Texas Gov. Greg Abbott visited Laredo on Oct. 30 as part of his statewide "Let's Roll" campaign tour ahead of Election Day. He rallied supporters with State Rep. Don McLaughlin at the campaign headquarters of Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina.
Abbott said that if he is re-elected, he would focus on property tax relief and regulatory oversight for data centers. He said his property tax cuts would reduce property taxes by $3,000 per household. He also said he wants to turn into law guidelines he has set for data centers, which he said would help preserve water, reduce the cost of electricity and keep data centers from interfering with residents' lives.
During the stop, Abbott also spoke about border security enforcement, public education and economic development. The governor's tour travels to Midland on Nov. 1 before Tuesday's election.
