Students from Keren Myers' Advanced Theatre, Tech Theatre and Intro to Theatre classes at Brownwood Middle School recently visited the Brownwood Lyric Theatre. Assistant Managing Director Levi Packer led them on a "tech tour" of the props room, scenery shop and other behind-the-scenes areas.

The highlight was an elevated revolving stage floor, designed by Ryan Bailey, used for scene changes in the theatre's production of "Little Shop of Horrors." Students also asked many questions about the four different "Audrey II" puppets used in the show. Bailey said the character's design was an example of "pivoting," when a technical element is changed from the original concept to suit available resources and the director's vision.

The Lyric also works with area elementary schools, offering children's shows, summer programs and roles for young people in regular productions.
