Skillpoint Alliance and Howard College in Big Spring celebrated the first class to complete a new electrical pre-apprenticeship training program on Friday.
The free, full-time program lasted four weeks and began October 5. It was designed to build foundational skills for careers in the electrical trades.
The graduation follows a September 10 ribbon cutting at Howard College, which marked the reopening of classrooms for skilled trades training. The partnership aims to prepare students for in-demand careers and address workforce needs across the Permian Basin, according to the organizations.
