The Genealogical and Historical Society of Caldwell County will hold its annual meeting Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the J. B. Nickells Memorial Library, 215 South Pecan Avenue, in Luling.
The meeting opens with a short business session to elect officers for 2027. Guest speaker Donaly E. Brice, a local historian and retired reference archivist with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, will then present a program titled "Santa Anna's 1836 Invasion of Texas." The society said the program looks at the invasion from the Mexican perspective, which it said is less widely known than the Texas-side accounts of the revolution.
Refreshments will follow the program, and door prizes will be awarded to attendees. The society said all visitors are welcome.
