Kavon Stiger and Corbin Edwards have each rushed for more than 1,000 yards this season, according to the Texarkana Gazette. Together they helped Hooks win the District 9-3A Division II title without a district loss. The Hornets will play in the playoffs.
Hooks head coach Todd Ledford said he asked both players to do things outside their comfort zones. Stiger had been a running back last season and has played quarterback this year. "He had to get uncomfortable," Ledford said. "He's embraced every bit of that."
Ledford said Edwards plays well without the ball, including in pass protection and blocking on runs. "Very few play just as good without the ball in their hand," Ledford said. He said Stiger often credits his teammates. "It takes 11 guys gelling together," Ledford said.
