Nathan Lorick, executive director of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention (SBTC), delivered his report to messengers at the annual meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at First Baptist Church Forney. He said more churches were planted over the past 12 months than in any previous year in the convention's history. Convention churches also gave a record amount through the Reach Texas State Missions Offering.

Lorick said more than 1,000 people from 288 churches were trained in personal evangelism through SBTC in 2026. The SBTC Empower Conference in February drew more than 3,400 registered participants from at least 475 churches. He also said 1,400 people made professions of faith through SBTC Disaster Relief efforts.

Fifty churches took part in a summer outreach held with the FIFA World Cup, which hosted matches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Houston. The report also covered Regenesis, the SBTC's church health and renewal process.
