Forecasters said Wednesday, October 28, will be warm across West Texas and southeast New Mexico, with highs in the 70s and 80s. Midland and Odessa are expected to reach 79 degrees. Winds should be light, between 5 and 15 miles per hour, and skies will be partly to mostly cloudy.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly west of the Pecos into southeast New Mexico. Forecasters said no severe weather is expected at this time, though small hail and gusty winds could occur with any storm that forms.

Overnight lows Thursday are expected in the 50s and 60s. Rain chances increase Thursday and Friday as another storm system moves in, which forecasters said could bring cooler temperatures back to the region. Heavy rain and flash flooding are possible with that system, including in Midland and Odessa. Isolated storms could continue into the weekend, and a cold front is expected Monday, with temperatures in the 60s for much of early November.
