Panola College will host a free Veterans Day Lunch Box Lecture at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Frances B. Ross Ballroom at the Charles C. Matthews Foundation Student Center. The speaker is Dr. Laura Tohe, daughter of an original Navajo Code Talker. She will talk about the history and contributions of the Navajo Code Talkers during World War II. Lunch will be provided to the first 100 attendees.
The college is also partnering with Pippen Motor Company and EAG Dodge Carthage on a food drive. The drive benefits local veterans' organizations and the Panola Pantry. Nonperishable food and hygiene items can be donated at either dealership through Nov. 11.
