The Board of Commissioners for Reeves County Emergency Services District No. 2 said it is continuing its partnership with AirMedCare Network to provide air medical memberships for Reeves County residents. The district has bought the memberships for residents since December 2022, according to a news release. The release said the benefit will remain available without interruption.
The district said the memberships help residents afford air ambulance transport by covering certain out-of-pocket costs. The memberships cover medically necessary air ambulance transports by participating AirMedCare Network providers. All eligible Reeves County residents are covered automatically at no cost to them.
Michael Authement, assistant chief of EMS for Reeves County ESD 2, said air medical partners are an essential part of the county's emergency healthcare system. He said their ability to transport patients quickly makes a large difference in critical medical and trauma emergencies.
