The City of Texarkana, Texas, invites the public to a dedication ceremony for its new Recorded Texas Historic Landmark marker on Monday, Nov. 9. The ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m. on the front steps of City Hall, 220 Texas Blvd., before the City Council's regular meeting at 6 p.m., according to a news release.

The Texas Historical Commission awarded City Hall the designation in 2025. The city describes it as the highest honor the State of Texas can give a historic structure. The city said the recognition reflects the building's architectural integrity, historical significance and contribution to the community.

The four-story neoclassical revival building was constructed between 1924 and 1925. It was designed by C. H. Page & Brother of Austin and Witt, Seibert & Halsey of Texarkana. The first City Council meeting in the building was held on Sept. 1, 1925. The dedication falls three days before the 101st anniversary of its grand opening on Nov. 12.
