The Laredo City Council will meet Monday, Nov. 2, to discuss several neighborhood issues. Officials are set to talk about a proposal that would require landlords to register their rental properties. Officials said the registry would make it easier to contact property owners when problems come up and help make sure homes meet basic safety standards.
Council members are also seeking answers after a recent fire at the DoubleTree hotel. They are weighing whether local firefighters need more training or specialized equipment. The city also plans to set a timeline for addressing feral hogs that are damaging residential yards.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
