Christian Pippins, the local history and genealogy librarian at the Longview Public Library, shared details about a new STEAM program for young East Texans. The program is designed to help children learn about their family history through hands-on activities.

Under the program, children of all ages create their own monster and write a backstory for it. The activity is meant to teach creative storytelling.
