The intersection of State Highway 158 and CR 60/Briarwood in Midland is closed to traffic beginning Monday, Nov. 2. The closure is part of an ongoing roadway improvement project, and it is expected to last about six weeks.
Crews will install an underground drainage system beneath the intersection during the closure. Traffic on SH 158, CR 60 and Briarwood will be directed along a signed detour route. Advance message boards were to be placed before the closure to notify drivers.
The overall project is expected to be completed in November 2027. Drivers are asked to follow the posted detour, allow extra travel time, slow down and stay alert in the work zone. Schedules may change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances. More information on Texas road conditions is available at DriveTexas.org.
