According to the city's community investment program, Plano has six ongoing and upcoming transportation projects with new updates. The list is not comprehensive.

An upcoming project will remove and rebuild a concrete arterial street and sidewalk on Park Boulevard from US 75 to the east city limits. Public Works CIP Manager Drew Zaeske said bids opened in mid-October and construction is estimated to start in late November or early December. The work is set for November 2026 to June 2028 and costs $4.7 million, funded by the city.

Among ongoing projects, Senior Traffic Engineer Chad Ostrander said the city is waiting to finish the electrical service process and for ONCOR to install poles along McDermott Road. CIP Engineering Manager Clay Lipscomb said screening walls in the Oak Brook Estates and The Hills at Preston neighborhoods are complete at Marsh Lane and at the southwest corner of Midway and Parker roads, with final sidewalk and landscaping work expected in November. Park Planning Manager Katie Dunham said the contractor is finishing final items on the Chisholm Trail underpass at Spring Creek Parkway, with the first phase expected to be done by the end of the year.

The North Texas Municipal Water District is replacing a 30-inch pipeline along Custer Road in southern Plano and into Richardson. Director of Engineering Mark Simon said 99% of the pipe is installed and the work is estimated to finish at the end of November, with repaving expected in January 2027. The project costs $18 million and is funded by the district.
