Houston starts the week with dense morning fog that is expected to clear to partly cloudy skies on Monday. Highs are forecast in the mid 80s, and the area is expected to be warm and humid. Rain chances stay low, with isolated rain possible Monday night.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday, Election Day, as a cold front moves through the Houston area. Some storms could bring brief, heavy rain and lightning. The highest chance is from late morning through late afternoon.

Cooler, drier air is forecast to arrive behind the front Tuesday night. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies, brisk nights and comfortable days on Wednesday and Thursday.
