Tennessee-based Tractor Supply Company plans to break ground on a new $2.772 million store on FM 306 in Canyon Lake on Jan. 16, 2027, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The filing did not give an exact location. The 23,729-square-foot retail building is scheduled for completion on Oct. 16, 2027. Oxford Architecture of Nashville is listed as the design firm.

The company already operates two other stores in Comal County, at 33701 N. Highway 281 in Bulverde and at 840 Loop 337 in New Braunfels. On its website, Tractor Supply describes itself as the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States. The company sells farm supplies, pet and animal feed, clothing, tools and fencing.

In a December 2024 presentation titled "Life Out Here 2030 Strategy," the company outlined growth plans that include tailoring product selection to local demographic and regional needs. The plans also call for expanded customer service for the "Out Here" business-to-business market, including larger farms, small- to medium-sized businesses and event spaces.

"Tractor Supply has never been stronger and the next five years are going to be very exciting," said Hal Lawton, president and chief executive officer of Tractor Supply. On Sept. 26, the company reported that its net sales increased 5.1% to $3.91 billion.
