Democratic nominee James Talarico has raised about $155 million since the start of 2025 through Oct. 14, according to campaign finance figures reported by The Texas Tribune. Republican nominee Ken Paxton has raised about $40.6 million over the same period. The Tribune reported that Talarico had $12.7 million on hand across his committees as of Oct. 14, while Paxton had about $6.1 million.
The Tribune also reported that Talarico is out-polling Paxton. It said the race is shaping up to be one of the most expensive Senate contests in the nation.
The Supreme Court struck down federal limits on how much political parties can spend in coordination with their candidates. The Tribune reported that the ruling lets both parties spend without limit, and that Paxton may have less to worry about because of it.
