An Texas A&M athletics spokesperson confirmed to KBTX that several members of the men's swimming team are no longer on the online roster due to "student conduct violations." It is unclear whether the athletes have been removed from the program or suspended. The spokesperson declined to discuss specific athletes or violations, citing student privacy.
The online publication SwimSwam reported that four athletes have been removed from the roster: fifth-year Connor Foote, seniors Logan Brown and Ben Scholl, and junior Chase Swearingen. The university has not confirmed that these four are the athletes involved. According to the university's online directory, all four are still enrolled at A&M.
Head coach Blaire Anderson sent a letter to athletes and parents saying the university "has completed its review of the reported violations, and action has been taken." A university statement said the review involved a small number of student-athletes and that behavior that strays from its Core Values has no place in the community.
