Lubbock Independent School District scored 100 out of 100 on the Texas Education Agency's School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, known as FIRST. The score earned the district an 'A' rating for the 25th consecutive year.
According to the district, it has held an 'A' rating every year since the state system was created in 2001. The system evaluates the financial management, health and stewardship of Texas public school districts.
Dr. Dewayne Wilkins, the district's chief financial officer, said a score of 100 is the highest possible and reflects the work of its financial and business operations teams. Superintendent Dr. Kathy Rollo credited the finance team and said the score reflects strong stewardship of taxpayer resources that benefit classrooms, staff and students.
