Federal officials announced Thursday that Eric Blake Fira, 33, of Lubbock, was sentenced to 1,080 months in federal prison, or 90 years. U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix imposed the sentence. Fira pleaded guilty on July 6 to three counts of production of child pornography.
According to court records, Fira coerced a minor into illegal conduct between February and December 2025 and recorded the abuse on his cell phone. Authorities began an investigation on Jan. 21 after the child made an outcry to the Crosby County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said a forensic search of Fira's phone found multiple recordings made in Lubbock and Crosbyton. GPS records confirmed that at least one video was recorded in a Lubbock hotel room Fira had rented.
Fira admitted he knew the victim was under 18, according to the case. The FBI, the Lubbock Police Department and the Crosby County Sheriff's Office investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen J. Rancourt prosecuted it.
