Early voting in Maverick County has exceeded the total from the 2022 midterm election, according to figures released by the Maverick County Elections Department. Early voting reached 8,201 ballots, up from 6,689 in 2022, an increase of 1,512 ballots, or about 22.60 percent.
Based on the county's 37,204 registered voters, early voting participation is about 22.04 percent, compared with 19.63 percent in 2022. The county's figures show about 29,003 registered voters, or 77.96 percent, had not voted early when the numbers were released.
Friday, October 30, is the last day of early voting. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. The county recorded about 28.12 percent overall turnout in the 2022 general election.
