Authorities said a gun recovered from the home of Jeremiah McGee, 47, has been identified as the weapon used in the deaths of Maria Davalos, 62, and her son, Ariel Arellano Jr., 32. McGee is charged with capital murder.

According to the Lufkin Police Department, the ATF's National Integrated Ballistic Information Network in Houston compared shell casings found at the scene with the gun, which was tested Friday night. Lt. James Cowan said a firearm leaves unique marks when it is used, which he described as essentially a fingerprint.

Lufkin police arrested McGee at his home Friday afternoon and found the gun during a search. He was booked into the Angelina County Jail, and his bond was set at $2 million. Police found Davalos and Arellano fatally shot on Oct. 23. Cowan said people interviewed, including McGee, reported disputes between McGee and the victims over Wi-Fi access. McGee and the victims lived side by side in a duplex in the 900 block of Third Street.
