The Texas City Stings closed out district play with a 28-7 win over Baytown Lee on Friday night at Stingaree Stadium. Lee tied the game at 7 in the first quarter. Rashod Henry then ran in two touchdowns in the second quarter, and Texas City led 21-7 at halftime.
Texas City finished the regular season 8-2 overall and 5-1 in District 10-5A-II as the district runner-up. That finish earned the Stings the right to host their bi-district playoff game. They will play Montgomery Lake Creek at 7 p.m. next Friday.
