A widespread rain event is on the way for South Central Texas. The forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of rain in many areas, with localized totals of 5 inches or more possible over a few days.
Forecasters said the steady rainfall should help improve drought conditions. Isolated flooding is possible where heavier rain develops.
The wettest weather is expected from Saturday night through Monday. Sunshine and warmer temperatures are expected to return next week.
