Will Travis of Flower Mound, a former Denton County sheriff, is seeking a liver transplant. He has been diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, a rare autoimmune disease, and cholangiocarcinoma, a bile duct cancer. His family said in an update that he is in good spirits, has recovered from pancreatitis and has been off chemotherapy for a few weeks. He has regained about 20 of the 40 pounds he lost and has more energy.

Travis's daughter, Dani Travis, asked the community to help in a social media post. "My dad has spent his life answering the call to help others," she said. "Now, we're asking you to help answer the call for him as he needs a liver transplant." Travis has a blood type of B+. The family said donors with B+, B-, O+ or O- blood may be compatible, but the transplant team will determine compatibility. The family is working with Living Donor Dallas to find a living donor.

A living donor gives about 40% of their liver, which regrows within a couple of months, according to the story. Travis's wife, Kathy Travis, said, "God is good," and that the family believes someone will be able to donate. Travis was diagnosed with PSC about five or six years ago.
