The Texas Department of Public Safety said a head-on crash on Monday, Nov. 2, killed one person in Brown County. The crash happened at 6:20 a.m. on US Highway 67/377, east of Early. DPS said a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling east in the westbound passing lane when it collided with a 2026 Toyota Tacoma traveling west.

DPS said Bradley Randall Staub, 66, of Early, was the driver and only occupant of the Nissan. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A DPS investigator suspects the Nissan driver was impaired by a medical condition and intoxication, DPS said. The investigation is ongoing and is waiting on toxicology results.

The driver and only occupant of the Toyota was taken to Hendrick Hospital in Brownwood. The person was later moved to Hendrick North Hospital in Abilene with incapacitating injuries, DPS said.
