Alexander defensive tackle Emil Cardenas had 17 total tackles, including 11 solo stops and eight tackles for loss, in the Bulldogs' recent win over Del Rio, according to KGNS.
Cardenas also had four sacks and four quarterback hurries. The Bulldogs needed a strong performance to stay in the postseason hunt, the station reported. The senior was named the station's Player of the Week.
Cardenas said his teammates deserved credit for the team's effort up front.
