The El Paso Rhinos defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 4-2 on Friday at Ector County Coliseum. It was the second game of a three-game series. Odessa won Thursday's game 4-2.
With the loss, the Jackalopes are 10-4-0-0 and remain third in the North American Hockey League South Division with 20 points. El Paso is 5-8-4 and fifth with 14 points.
Jackalopes head coach Brian Sherry said the team has started games slowly. He said he takes much of the blame and credited El Paso, calling the Rhinos good that night.
El Paso led the entire game and finished with 29 shots to Odessa's 25. Chase Nyitray scored on a power play in the first period, and Brandon Gauthier added a goal in the second period.
