One person was taken into custody Wednesday night after a police response near 38th Street and Golder Avenue in Odessa.
Residents reported seeing several patrol cars, blocked streets and officers directing traffic near Burleson Elementary School around 7:43 p.m.
Odessa Police Department spokesperson Steve LeSueur said the incident began when an officer tried to make contact with an individual during a police encounter. The individual evaded officers but was later located and taken into custody.
