Seale's Florist in Dimmitt was opened in 1948 by Maddie Seale, according to florist Maddie Gfeller. Gfeller said Seale started the business after buying a duplex. The main showroom is still in that building.
Gfeller said Seale later opened a greenhouse out back that operated seasonally, two times a year. Carol Lust bought the business in 1984. A backroom was later added, where the shop now does all of its flower work.
Gfeller said the shop has grown enough to open a second showroom next door. It is open during the Christmas season, and Gfeller said the shop hopes to open it full time in the future. "We want to be able to be there for the community when they need us," she said.
