The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, or CAMPO, has launched We Ride I-35, a carpool program that matches commuters with others who have similar routes and schedules. The program is currently open to commuters traveling from Kyle and Buda to and from Austin. It is offered through CAMPO's regional Transportation Demand Management program in partnership with CTXGO.

Participants can drive, ride or alternate between the two. CAMPO handles the matching using information commuters provide about their schedules, destinations, preferred meeting locations and driving preferences. After a match, commuters coordinate with each other on meeting places and travel times.

Participants may also be eligible to earn $5 per day, up to $150, by logging qualifying carpool trips through CTXGO Commute Rewards. The CTXGO app also includes a Guaranteed Ride Home feature, which gives eligible carpool participants a free ride home when an unexpected situation keeps them from using their usual carpool. CAMPO said the program gives commuters another option as construction continues along I-35. CAMPO serves Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties.
