The National Weather Service issued dense fog advisories on Sunday morning for areas from the Texas Panhandle through East Texas, including Rockwall, Kaufman and Hunt counties east of Interstate 45. The Dallas-Fort Worth area was outside the formal advisory zone, but the agency said high moisture and low clouds reduced visibility there. The advisories were set to expire at 10 a.m. A ground stop was in place at DFW Airport until at least 8 a.m. Temperatures were 60 degrees in Dallas and Fort Worth Sunday morning, and 64 degrees at Dallas Love Field.

A low-pressure system over the Four Corners region is expected to move east over the next 24 hours and bring a cold front across Texas. Forecasters said there is a 20% chance of pop-up showers Monday afternoon. The chance rises to 60% Monday night into early Tuesday as a squall line arrives, then drops to 30% Tuesday afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of North Texas under a severe weather risk for Monday night into Tuesday. The risk also extends across the southern and central Plains and down to the Texas Big Bend.
