Alisha Payne, a mother of eight from Kemp, died after suffering a seizure and falling down the bleachers at her son's peewee football game on October 24, according to the family. Her spouse, Andre Payne, described her as a loving mother and kind-hearted person. He said she had recently become a certified nursing assistant.

Her mother, Tonia Fidler, was at the game with Andre Payne. Fidler said her daughter had never had a seizure before, and she did not understand what had happened when people began to yell. Andre Payne said he screamed for help after he saw his wife on the steps. First responders tried to help, but Alisha Payne did not survive, the family said.

Family members said Payne never missed her children's games or practices. Fidler said she plans to help raise the eight children. She said the community has offered support, and a fundraiser has been organized to help cover funeral expenses.
