A 19-year-old man died after a road rage incident led to a shooting on the South Side early Sunday. Police responded to the shooting, reported around 3:30 a.m. off Teresa Street near Pleasanton Road, according to investigators.

Investigators said the shooting involved two vehicles. Three men were inside the suspect vehicle when someone fired at the rear of another vehicle. The 19-year-old was sitting in the front passenger seat. He had an apparent gunshot wound to the chest, and the driver took him to Baptist Hospital on Cupples Road. Officers who were responding to an earlier shooting call diverted to the hospital after dispatchers said the victim was being driven there. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have not released the victim's name or described the suspect vehicle. The three men in that vehicle have not been identified, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
