Friends and family held a memorial Saturday night inside a theater for Julian Harris and Madison Duren, both 22 and recent SMU graduates who shared a love for the stage. Moore White, a friend, said the event was held in a theater because it was where the two spent much of their lives. Harper Caroline Lee, another friend, described them as talented and kind.

Police said the two were leaving their apartment near White Rock Lake on October 6. Harris was driving and turned left from Knob Oak Drive onto Garland Road when police say another driver hit their car. Harris died at the scene and Duren died later at a hospital. Police later arrested 22-year-old Aldrea Rogers. A police affidavit says her speed reached 82 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. Rogers and her two children, who were also in her car, survived. She has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, and her bond is set at $500,000. She remains in the Dallas County Jail.

Police said a third vehicle involved in the crash left before officers arrived.
