A 77-year-old Abilene woman died after a two-vehicle crash on Nov. 5 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 277 and Farm to Market Road 707 in Taylor County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. DPS identified her as Linda Jane Holmes.
DPS said Holmes was driving a 2006 Saturn Vue south on FM 707 at about 4:48 p.m. when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Her vehicle collided with a northbound 2016 Ford F-150 that had the right of way. Holmes was taken to Hendrick Medical Center North, where a doctor pronounced her dead at 7:20 p.m., DPS said.
The pickup's driver, Jose Sifuentes Lozano, 54, of Louise, was not injured, DPS said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The crash remains under investigation.
