A 66-year-old Early man, Bradley Randall Staub, was killed in a head-on crash on Nov. 2 on U.S. Highway 67 east of Early, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. DPS said he died at the scene.
DPS said Staub was driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder east in the westbound passing lane. A 2026 Toyota Tacoma driven by Christopher Gomez, 37, of Dublin, was traveling west in the passing lane when the vehicles collided, according to a preliminary investigation.
Gomez was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood and later transferred to Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene with incapacitating injuries, DPS said. An investigator suspects Staub was impaired due to a medical condition and intoxication. The investigation remains active and is awaiting toxicology results.
