The Kendall County Fair Association continues to face divisions over leadership roles, including pushback from a former director, according to discussions at a recent meeting. Those discussions were reported from the Oct. 14 session. Other issues cited include social-media posts, complaints about mismanagement from some parents tied to the Queen's Court 2025-26, and reaction after a major car dealership pulled out as a sponsor. Officials also raised concerns about the association's compliance with requirements for its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

Former first-year director William Flessner was voted off the board after a difference of views with the parent of a contestant in the 2026-27 pageant, members noted. Flessner said he did not receive the certified letter required under the association's bylaws and asked for written confirmation. He also alluded to other reasons the board sought his removal.

His sister, Kim Flessner, has rescinded a resignation she announced at a Sept. 22 membership meeting. She serves as first vice president, the association's highest-ranking remaining officer. The story also reports widespread public support for a former queen whose microphone was turned off at the September fair when she criticized pageant management.
