High pressure has kept most of the storms over Western Texas for the past couple of days. KBTX said a weak disturbance moving across Texas on Friday and into Saturday could bring a glancing blow to the Brazos Valley, from Friday afternoon through at least mid-afternoon Saturday.

The station's forecaster said model data showing a widespread rain event is not convincing. Even so, KBTX issued a First Alert Weather Day for Saturday in case the forecast needs major changes. For now, it expects a brief round of nearby showers late Friday, possibly more during the day Saturday, with very light accumulations.

Sunday looks quiet, according to KBTX, ahead of a more significant storm system around Election Day. The station said it expects to lift the Saturday alert by midweek if current trends hold.
