Katie Wallace, event specialist at the Dome Civic and Convention Center in Borger, spoke with NewsChannel 10 during a visit by Ruben on the Road. She said the Dome first opened in 1957, during the post-war boom, when the town needed a place for large gatherings.

Wallace said Borger began renovating the building in 2019, and the work was completed in 2022. She said the building was badly worn when work started, and that seeing it restored has been a positive result for people in town.

Wallace said the center aims to bring families together and to serve nearby communities that do not have venues of similar size. She also said the community appreciates the effort city leaders put into the project.
