The Arboretum, a shopping center at Great Hills Trail and Research Boulevard in Northwest Austin, is preparing for a renovation. Asana Partners, based in Charlotte, bought the property in February 2026 and recently unveiled the plans.

The redesign will be led by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, based in Austin. It includes a 14,000-square-foot retail expansion along Great Hills Trail that is expected to hold three new businesses, at least two of them restaurants, according to Forrest Cherry, senior director of portfolio management at Asana Partners. Construction on the addition is expected to start in spring 2027, with businesses opening by fall 2028.

Other planned changes include more outdoor seating, children's play areas, improved walkways between restaurants and the main courtyard, lighting upgrades and new signage. The renovation will keep the property's tree cover, according to the company. Cherry said daytime and evening events are planned, but details have not been finalized. Asana Partners declined to say how much it expects to spend.
