The Texas women's basketball team will host Baylor in an exhibition game Thursday at 7 p.m. at Moody Center. UT announced Wednesday that Eastern New Mexico will no longer play in the game. A Texas news release said Eastern New Mexico "could not play due to lack of depth and available players." Admission is free.
Baylor agreed to replace Eastern New Mexico on the preseason schedule. Texas leads the all-time series 62-50. The teams have played only once since Texas left the Big 12 after the 2023-24 season. Eastern New Mexico is a Division II program. Baylor is picked to finish third in the Big 12 and is led by senior guard Taliah Scott, along with several transfers.
Texas is ranked sixth in the AP preseason poll. The Longhorns also played exhibition games against No. 2 UConn and No. 11 UCLA this month. They open the regular season at home Nov. 4 against Fairleigh Dickinson.
