Livingston Police Department officers were sent to a Walmart around 3 p.m. Monday for a reported burglary in progress. Police said they found Nicolas Williams, 36, of Lufkin, who had been detained by a bystander and an off-duty Polk County Sheriff's deputy.

According to police, an investigation determined that Williams parked next to a truck, opened its door and removed property. The truck's owner, who was nearby, confronted him. With help from another nearby off-duty Polk County Sheriff's deputy, Williams was held until officers arrived. Police said he was arrested for burglary of a vehicle.
