The Odessa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse Proposition A, a proposed venue tax on the City of Odessa's upcoming ballot. The tax would help raise revenue for the Odessa Sports Complex, which is under construction.

The chamber said the complex is expected to draw athletes and families from the region, Texas and the nation. Renee Earls, president and CEO of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, said the tax could generate millions of visitor dollars each year to help pay for the facility, which in turn would save money for local residents.

Early voting is underway. Election Day is November 3.
