U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 49.3 pounds of suspected cocaine, valued at $290,680, at the Laredo Port of Entry, according to the agency.
The seizure happened Friday, Oct. 23, at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge. Officers referred a 2019 Honda Accord for a secondary inspection. A nonintrusive inspection system examination found 20 packages of suspected cocaine hidden inside the vehicle.
The car was driven by a 36-year-old U.S. citizen. CBP seized the drugs and the vehicle, and the driver was arrested. Homeland Security Investigations special agents are investigating.
