Rainfall stopped across the region after a wet start to October, and dry conditions have intensified over the past few weeks, according to KBTX.
The latest drought monitor update shows part of every county in the station's viewing area in Moderate Drought. Severe Drought has developed to the northwest, and some small areas, mainly in Robertson, have reached Extreme Drought.
KBTX said spotty showers are in the forecast for the Halloween weekend. The station said these showers are not expected to be enough to make a meaningful dent in the moisture deficit.
