Forecasters said rain is possible on six of the next nine days in Houston, including parts of the Halloween weekend. Scattered storms are expected from time to time through Wednesday afternoon, with the western and southwestern parts of the city having the highest chances of showers.
Rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Vance could reach Texas from Thursday through Saturday. Forecasters said the rain depends on timing and whether moisture combines with a lifting mechanism, and the hour-by-hour chances will be shared closer to Halloween. The forecast high on Halloween is 84 degrees, which would put it near one of the warmest Halloweens on record.
Daylight saving time ends early Sunday, November 1, when clocks move back one hour. A cold front may move through southeast Texas on Election Day, Tuesday, with the timing still uncertain, the forecast said.
