Christine Crowley will step down as executive director of the Boerne Community Theatre, or BCT, on Dec. 31. She has held the post for nine years and has spent 25 years with the theater in total. Crowley said she believes the theater made progress in becoming recognized as an asset to the community, and she credited its staff, board members and volunteers.

Crowley will remain with BCT as an ambassador for the venue and will manage the box office, the theater said. Robin Cunningham, president of the Governing Board, thanked Crowley for her work. Cunningham said Crowley helped the theater get through a challenging few years during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Crowley has also been an actor and director at the theater. She first appeared in the play "Incorruptible" in 2003 and later directed it at the current theater on East Blanco Road. She first joined the BCT board in 2003. While working as a librarian at Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, she also directed several productions, including "Red Herring" and "The Odd Couple."
